Learn how to install and configure the NetWorker License Server on a Windows platform in this step-by-step guide. You will need a license in order to finish the process. These are available at //licensing.dell.com. For more detailed information, refer to the official Dell NetWorker Licensing Guide click here.
Welcome to our guide on installing Dell NetWorker Licensing Server on a Windows Platform. Visit Dell.com/support and search for NetWorker. On the Networker product page, make sure you are logged in, in order to see all available downloads. Navigate to Drivers & Downloads, type License, select 'Show recommended downloads only' and download the 'Dell License Server file for Windows'.
Double click the installer file and begin the installation. Accept the license agreement and click next until the installation completes. You can see that a new Desktop Shortcut called LMTOOLS has been created. Before you can launch this program, you need to copy the license file onto the License server's program file's directory.
You can obtain licenses at licensing.dell.com Create the folder 'elms' and inside this folder, another folder called 'licenses'. There you are going to place your license file. Now go back to the Desktop and Launch the LMTOOLS program. Select the 'Config Services' tab. Here you will configure the License Server service. You can specify a name for the License Service or use the default one.
You have to provide the full path of 'lmgrd.exe' file and your license file. Select 'Use Services' and 'Start Server at Power Up', to make sure the services are started after a reboot. Then save the service configuration. To be sure the Service starts automatically; you need to change the service's properties. Change the Startup type from 'Automatic Delayed Start' to simply 'Automatic'.
You can now start your License Server service. After the service started, you can add the license to NetWorker Server using the Management Console or Web UI. We have this covered in a separate video. For further information, please refer to the NetWorker Licensing Guide found at dell.com/manuals.
