Before testing the RAM sticks, let's learn how to properly remove them using your computer service manual. To find your service manual, open a web browser and go to dell.com/support. Identify your system automatically or by typing in the service tag. Click on the "Documentation" tab and scroll down to the "Manuals and Documents" section. Open the document labeled "Service Manual."
Select "View PDF" or "HTML" next to your manual. The manual will download or open online. Once the manual opens, locate the "Removing and installing components" chapter. Find the "Removing the memory modules" and "Installing the memory modules" sections, and follow the instructions to remove the part. Be careful while removing it so there is no damage caused during the process.
Before testing the RAM sticks, make sure the computer is turned off and disconnected from the power source. Disconnect the RAM or memory modules from the system. Install only one of the memory sticks into one of the available RAM slots. Turn on and test the system with that single RAM stick.
If the computer is able to boot into Windows normally, please proceed. After testing that RAM stick, turn off the computer and disconnect the power source. Swap that same RAM stick to a different memory slot, turn on the computer, and test it. If Windows boots normally, continue testing.
Repeat the previous-mentioned process and test the system after inserting each RAM stick into all the available RAM slots in the system. If you identified a specific working or failing configuration, provide this information to the support assistant.
