A mouse is one of the primary input devices for a computer that allows you to control the cursor or mouse pointer to select text, icons, files, and more. A mouse can be connected to a computer using USB, Bluetooth, or a dedicated wireless USB dongle. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, the suggested quick steps might help.
Try each step and check if your mouse issue is resolved. If the issue is not resolved, proceed to the next step.
Your USB cable Figure 1 or USB wireless receiver Figure 2 may have come loose. Reseating the connector will ensure good data transfer.

During normal use of the mouse, the batteries discharge. This may cause the computer and mouse to lose connection. Replacing the batteries with new ones will reestablish a strong connection.
