This video shows how to replace the M 0.2 solid state drive or SSD on an XPS 8950. Before you begin, power up the system and disconnect all attached peripherals ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the system to begin, loosen the captive screw.
This secures a left side cover latch, then pull on the latch to release the cover from the chassis, holding the left side cover firmly on both sides.
Lift the left side cover from the chassis, place the computer on its side to remove the SSD, remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board, then slide and lift the SSD off the card slot on the system board.
Depending on the form factor on the SSD. You plan to install into your computer. You may have to remove and install the SSD screw mount to install the new SSD slide.
The SSD in the M 0.2 card slot on the system board align the edge of the SSD with a screw hole on the system board. Then replace the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Now place a computer in an upright position, holding the left side cover firmly on both sides, place the bottom edge of the left side cover into the chassis and press the left side cover into place. Finally tighten the Cactus crew that secures the left side cover latch.
