In this video, we will demonstrate how to remove and install the Solid-state drive (SSD).
Before removing the SSD, read through the safety guidelines to protect your computer from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.

Turn off your computer and disconnect all attached peripherals. To enter Service Mode, shut down the computer and disconnect the AC adapter.
Press and hold the B key on the keyboard, and then press the power button. Service Mode allows you to cut off power from the computer without disconnecting the battery cable from the system board.
Now, the computer will boot up. Press any key to proceed, the computer will emit three short beeps and shut down. In order to remove the base cover, loosen the nine captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the top left corner and continue to work on the sides to open the base cover. Lift and remove the base cover away from the computer.
Using a flat head scribe pry open the SSD shield cover and lift it out of the computer. Now, remove the single screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Gently slide the SSD from the M.2 slot. You have now successfully removed the SSD. Now, let’s see how to install the SSD. To begin, insert the SSD into the dedicated slot on the system board.
Now, replace single screw to secure the SSD to the system board. Align and place the SSD shield cover in its position to cover the SSD.
To install the base cover, align and place the base cover on the plamrest and keyboard assembly. You can press the edges and sides of the base cover until it snaps into place.
Now, tighten the nine captive screws to secure the base cover to the computer. Press the power button to power on the computer and exit from Service Mode.
You have now successfully installed the SSD. You can now connect all the peripherals and turn on your computer. For more information, see the Service Manual at dell.com/support.
