FIRST STEP: EITHER YOU OR THE CUSTOMER LOG IN TO SCALEIO ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM USING AN ID WITH RIGHTS TO RUN THE SCALEIO GUI DOUBLE-CLICK THE EMC SCALEIO GUI ENTER IP ADDRESS OR NAME OF MASTER MDM.
ENTER AN ADMINISTRATOR-LEVEL ID AND PASSWORD. ...AND YOU'RE IN. PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEP. FROM WITHIN THE SCALEIO GUI, CHOOSE THE BACKEND TAB. WITH THE VIEW SET TO "ALL SDSS"... EXPAND THE LIST AND FIND THE TARGET SDS. RIGHT-CLICK THE SDS AND SELECT ENTER MAINTENANCE MODE CLICK “OK.” WAIT FOR THE GREEN CHECKMARK. CLICK “CLOSE.”
THE SDS ICON CHANGES TO INCLUDE AN ORANGE WRENCH. FOLLOW NORMAL PROCEDURES TO SAFELY SHUT DOWN THE SDS'S HOST AND PROCEED. LOG INTO THE IDRAC USING ROOT ID OR ITS EQUIVALENT. CLICK BOTH "SYSTEM ID LED ON/OFF" AND "POWER ON/OFF" CLICK "OK" TO EACH ACTION IDRAC DISPLAY REFRESHES... THE SYSTEM ID LED IS NOW FLASHING.
AT THIS POINT THE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE GRACEFULLY SHUT DOWN DELL 13G R730 FAN REPLACEMENT. LOCATE THE SYSTEM. SYSTEM SHOULD BE POWERED DOWN, WITH THE SYSTEM ID LED FLASHING. DOUBLE-CHECK THE SERIAL NUMBER. GENTLY SLIDE THE SYSTEM OUT. TAKE ESD PRECAUTIONS. REMOVE THE COVER. IDENTIFY AND REPLACE THE FAULTY FAN. REPLACE THE COVER.
GENTLY SLIDE THE SYSTEM BACK IN. YOU MAY NEED TO HELP THE CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOLD BACK IN. REPLACE THE BEZEL. GATHER YOUR EQUIPMENT, PARTS AND PAPERWORK. BACK TO THE IDRAC CONSOLE ACCESS. WITHIN THE IDRAC CONSOLE, CLICK "SYSTEM ID LED ON/OFF" TO TURN OFF THE FLASHING LED CLICK "OK."
SYSTEM ID LED IS NOW OFF. POWER-ON THE SYSTEM. CLICK "OK." SYSTEM IS NOW COMING UP. INDICATORS OF SDS STORAGE IN MAINTENANCE MODE. GO TO THE BACKEND TAB. VIEW "BY SDSS" ORANGE WRENCH ON SDS ICON MEANS MAINTENANCE MODE.
RIGHT-CLICK AND CHOOSE “EXIT MAINTENANCE MODE.” CONFIRM AND CLICK “OK.” GREEN CHECKMARK SHOWS THE OPERATION TO BE COMPLETE. CLICK “CLOSE.” SOME REBUILD ACTIVITY WILL OCCUR. THE SDS ICON HAS RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE DASHBOARD PANEL IS BACK TO NORMAL.
