This video applies to S210 and X410 nodes. No tools are required for this task before you replace a component in the node, obtain a field replacement unit or free package from E MC Ison Technical support. The free package updates the CTO information on the node.
Then forwards the updated information to E MC Ison technical support. See the replacement guide on the E MC online support site for full instructions, both latches of the front panel in simultaneously to release the front panel.
If you're replacing a drive that's located in the back of an X410 node, remove the em I shield that covers the drives, press the vertical handle on each end of the shield towards the center while pulling away from the node. S210 nodes contain 24 drives in the front numbered from left to right.
X410 nodes contain a total of 36 drives, 24 drives in the front number from top left to bottom, right and 12 drives in the back numbered from top left to bottom, right. A red light next to a drive indicates that it's failed unlatch and remove the drive from the node. Remove the replacement part from the packaging.
Save the packaging to return the failed part to ison using the return label provided open the latch and seat the replacement drive in the bay, close the latch to secure the drive, the red light stays on and will remain on until you add the drive to the node.
If you replace a drive that's located in the back of an X410 node, replace the em I shield, replace the front panel assembly, update the CTO information on the node by installing a free package.
