This video shows how to replace the 2.5-inch hard-disk drive on a Precision 3650 Tower. Before you begin, turn off the computer, and disconnect all the attached peripherals.
Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. To begin, remove the single screw that secures the side cover release latch.
Then, pull the release latch to unlock the side cover. Open the side cover and lift it out of the computer chassis. Lay the computer on to its right side.
Disconnect the hard drive data and power cables from the connectors on the 2.5-inch hard-disk drive module. Next, press the release tab on either side of the hard drive to release it from the slot.
Finally, lift the hard drive out of the computer. To replace the hard drive, Slide the 2.5-inch hard-disk drive into the slot on the chassis until it clicks into place.
Then, reconnect the hard drive data and power cables to the connectors on the hard drive. At this point, re-install the side cover by aligning and placing the side cover with the slot on the chassis.
Press the edges and sides of the side cover until the release latch snaps into place. Finally, replace the single screw to secure the side cover release latch.
You can now connect all the peripherals and power adaptor and then power on the computer.
