Some programs communicate with computers over the Internet or a network. Windows Firewall helps protect your computer by blocking this communication unless you specifically allow it. To allow a program to communicate through Windows Firewall, click the start button.
Type firewall in the search box and then click Windows Firewall. Click allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall. Click change settings.
If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Select the check box next to the program you want to allow.
We'll select remote desktop for this demonstration. Select the network locations you want to allow communication on, and then click okay. Now the program can communicate with your computer.
