Here's how to connect to iDRAC8 and change the default password. To use the Web UI, enter the iDRAC IP address in your browser address bar. Log in using the default user name and password.
When prompted, enter a new password for the root account. If you're not prompted to change the password, expand "iDRAC Settings", then select "User Authentication". Select the UserID for the root account, then "Configure User". Set the new password. Alternatively, open a RACADM session.
Confirm the root account has an index value of "2" by entering the command "racadm get idrac.users.2.username", and confirming the user name is "root". Change the password with the command racadm set idrac.users.2.password, then the new password.
