In this video, we will guide your through installing windows 10 with external media. We recommend using this method only after a hard drive replacement or when you cannot access Windows 10 or its recovery environment.
If you can boot to the desktop, watch our video, ‘How to Use Reset in Windows 10’. To get started, insert your disk or USB device and power on your computer.
Tap F12 when you see the Dell Logo Select your media device and press ‘Enter’ In this video, we’ll use a USB Storage device Press the space bar to boot to device.
On the Windows setup page, enter your language and other preferences, and then click ‘Next’ Choose ‘Install now’ to begin a new installation. Review the license terms, then check ‘I accept the license terms’, and then click Next.
Now, select Custom: Install windows only Select the partition where you wish to install Windows and then Click the next Button Setup will now begin to copy and install files on your system.
Now you can choose to customize settings like privacy, protection and error reporting settings. Click “customize settings’ to personalize.
Here, We’ll select “Express settings” for the default values. If you already have a Microsoft account, sign in here. Otherwise, click ‘Create a new account’.
Once Windows 10 is installed you can setup other user accounts and other preferences Congratulations, you’ve successfully installed Windows 10.
In most cases, your device drivers will install automatically. Visit dell.com/drivers to locate missing drivers, or to install the most up-to-date versions.
