The first tip is to keep your graphics drivers up to date. Updating your graphics card driver will help your system be ready to support the latest games. To do this, go to dell.com/support. Identify your system and use the Drivers & Downloads section to locate the latest video drivers for your PC.
Proceed to download and install them. You can also use the option Get Drivers and Downloads in SupportAssist. The second tip is to review the GPU priority for your games. Windows 11 allows you to manually set a specific app or game to run directly using your discrete video card.
To do this, go to Settings, System Display, and then Graphics. Choose an app from the list and click on Options. Select your dedicated graphics card. We recommend using the High performance option as it is the go-to option for gaming. Click Save.
You can also optimize your Windows environment for games by using Game Mode. Go to Start, type in “Game Mode,” open the result and confirm that Game Mode is on. Setting your system to High performance is another option to maximize your gaming experience. Locate the battery icon on your Windows 11 taskbar and right-click on it. Click on the Power and sleep settings pop-up to access the menu.
In Power mode, select the option Best performance. This will prioritize delivering the best performance possible from your PC with the power available.
