In this video we show how to replace an expansion card on a PowerEdge R660xs. Before removing an expansion card, read through and follow the safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety. For more information about safety guidelines, see the R660xs Service Manual at: Dell.com/support In order to remove an expansion card, you must first remove the cover and riser 1. To remove the cover, use a screwdriver to rotate the lock counterclockwise to the unlocked position.
Next lift the release latch until the system cover slides back. Then lift the cover from the system. To remove riser 1, holding the blue touch points, lift it from the system board. To remove an Expansion card, lift the retention latch. Holding the card by its edges pull it free of the riser. To install an expansion card, holding it by its edges slide the card in until fully seated. Then close the retention latch.
To install riser 1, align and lower it into the connector on the system board. To install the cover, align the system cover with the guide slots on the system and place it one the system. Next, close the system cover release latch. Finally, using a screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise to the lock position. For more information or support visit Dell.com/Support.
