How to Replace Rear HDD Bay for PowerEdge R760

Prioritize safety. Unlock and remove the front bezel. Safely remove and install drive blanks. Reinstall the front bezel by aligning tabs and locking in place.

Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.

Removing the front bezel:
Unlock the bezel.
Press the release button, and disengage the left end of the bezel.
Unhook the right end, and remove the bezel.
CAUTION: To maintain proper system cooling, drive blanks must be installed in all empty drive slots.

Removing a drive blank:
Press the release button, and slide the drive blank out of the drive slot.

Installing a drive blank:
Slide the drive blank into the drive slot until the release button clicks into place.

Install the front bezel:
Align and insert the tabs on the bezel into the slots on the system.
Press the bezel until the release button clicks in place.
Lock the bezel.

Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
