How to Replace a DC-SCM and attic board in a PowerEdge R670

In this video, we show how to replace a DCSCM and attic board in a PowerEdge R670. Before moving the DCSCM and attic board, read through and follow the safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety. In order to remove the DCSCM and attic board, you first need to remove the cover and expansion card riser blank. To remove the cover, rotate the lock counterclockwise to unlock it, lift the latch to release the cover, then remove it from the system. To remove the riser blank, loosen the three captive screws holding it in place, then lift the blank out of the system.
To remove the DCSCM, disconnect the data cable connected to the attic board, then lift the blue latch to disengage the board and slide it out of the system. To remove the attic board, loosen the two captive screws, then tilt the board up at an angle and remove it from the guide pins.
To install the attic board, align it with the guide pins and press down, then tighten the two captive screws to secure it in place. To install the DCSCM, slide it into the slot until firmly seated and close the blue latch. Then connect the data cable to the attic board. To install the riser blank, align and place it into the system, then tighten the three captive screws to secure it.
To install the cover, align and place it on the system. Lower the latch, then rotate the lock clockwise to secure the cover. For more information or support about the PowerEdge R670, visit dell.com/support.
