In this video, we’ll demonstrate how to replace the WLAN card. Before removing the WLAN card read through the safety guidelines to protect your computer from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.

To get started, loosen the thumbscrew that secures the side cover to the system. Now, slide the side cover towards the front of the computer and lift the side cover.
Press the release tabs on the hard-drive assembly and slide it towards the front of the system to disconnect it from the connector on the system board.
Lift the hard-drive assembly from the system. Now, let’s remove the WLAN card. Remove the single screw that secures the WLAN card bracket and card to the system board. You can now remove the WLAN card bracket. Slide and lift the WLAN card away from the WLAN slot on the system board.
Carefully, disconnect the antenna cables from the connectors on the WLAN card. You have successfully removed the WLAN card. Now, let’s see how to install the WLAN card.
To begin, connect the antenna cables to the connectors as indicated by the black and white triangles on the WLAN card. You can now align the notch on the WLAN card with tab on the WLAN card slot and insert the card into the connector on the system board.
And place the WLAN card bracket on the WLAN card to secure the antenna cables. Now, align the bracket on the card and replace the single screw to secure the WLAN card bracket and card to the system board.
Insert the hard-drive assembly into the slot on the system board and slide the hard-drive assembly towards the connector on the system board until the release tab clicks into place.
Align the side cover with the grooves on the chassis and slide the side cover towards the back of the system. You can now tighten the thumbscrew to secure the side cover to the system.
You have now successfully replaced the WLAN card. You can now connect all the peripherals and turn on your computer. For more information see the Service Manual at: Dell.com/support.
