Resolution Cause
Some of the members could not be committed because of mirror failure during cutover. User intervention is required. A consistent snapshot of the source CG is no longer valid as some of the CG members have been migrated to the destination

Solution
  • Identify the members of the source consistency group whose import failed. Remove these failed members from the destination volume group and delete them from the destination.
  • Remove the canceled members from the source consistency group by referring to the source guide and refresh the source volumes using import wizard.
  • Import the respective volumes individually using the volume import wizard.
  • Once imported, add these imported volumes to the destination volume group
  • It is recommended to take a snapshot and apply a protection policy to the Volume Group on the destination

Description Import operation failed on one or more members
Resolution Cause
CG Import session needs attention as operation on some of the members failed with errors.  Administrative operations on one or more member source volume(s) might be restricted, or Host applications might have been impacted.

Solution

Bring the source up and run the cleanup operation on import session to revert source volume to pre-import state. Before starting an import, run "verify and update" from PowerStore Manager -> Migration -> Import External Storage on source array.

If host I/O is interrupted a reboot of the host might be required. 

Contact the technical support if the issue remains.

Resolution Cause
Import operation failed with errors as paths to both the source and destination are down. Host applications will be impacted and/or administrative operations on the source volume will be restricted.

Solution

Bring the source up and run the cleanup operation on import session to revert source volume to pre-import state.  Before starting an import, run "verify and update" from PowerStore Manager -> Migration -> Import External Storage on source array.

Resolution Cause
Import operation failed because of the connectivity issue between PowerStore and Source.

Solution

Ensure that all the destination nodes are operational. Also, ensure that connectivity between destination and source has not been interrupted.

If the import is in CLEANUP_REQUIRED state, execute the cleanup option to restore the source volume back to normal so that import can be retried.

Before starting an import, run "verify and update" from PowerStore Manager -> Migration -> Import External Storage on source array which indicates status of the data path connectivity.
