Empowering Anyone, Anywhere and on Any Device

As Dell employees around the globe celebrated our 30th birthday, several of them joined in from this year’s Citrix Synergy conference in Los Angeles.

A premier enterprise mobility conference, Citrix Synergy brings together the brightest minds to discuss how organizations can empower people with new ways to work – anytime, anywhere and on any device. Dell is excited to make several announcements and tell the story of how its customers are using Dell Wyse solutions and products to enable a whole new way to work.

The overarching theme of Synergy this year is “Innovation, insights and interactions to take you mobile,” and taking this to heart, Dell announced a number of new innovative offerings that were designed directly from the insights gained from our customers and partners:

The Best Looking End Point…Ever

Many organizations in banking, healthcare, hospitality and retail utilize traditional PCs in customer-facing locations like bank tellers, nurses’ stations, hospital admittance, hotel kiosks and customer service terminals. This can quickly become a headache for IT staff as the considerations of security, connectivity, management and features must now be balanced with the design and aesthetics.

The new Dell Wyse 5000 series all-in-one thin client breaks new ground in end point design and beauty. It combines the security, performance and manageability of a Dell Wyse thin client with Dell’s leading display technology and the fit and finish of Dell’s leading all-in-one designs. This enables Dell’s customers who want the benefits of centralized management, bullet-proof security with the features of a full virtualized desktop, and a device with all of the elegance and beauty to fit into any high-style environment, to choose a device that addresses all of these needs without compromise.

Redefining Value for a New Generation of Performance End Points

There’s no doubt that the benefits of a virtualized infrastructure have many compelling draws for a wide array of industries and use-cases. Organizations and their employees are increasingly mobile and may work in different locations and on different devices to complete tasks that would only be within the realm of a high-performance and high-cost end point device. The cost associated with these devices can be an inhibitor for organizations that would otherwise find virtualization to be an ideal solution.

The Wyse Xenith zero client for Citrix have been an iconic product that strengthened the relationship between us and Citrix and opened many doors to customers deploying desktop virtualization.  As the fastest, easiest to manage, and most secure zero client for Citrix, it’s been a big hit.  Now, we are introducing the new Dell Wyse Xenith 3 zero client for Citrix, increasing performance to a new level for this product.  The Xenith 3 features a dual-core System-on-Chip (SoC) with dual-band Wi-Fi and dual display outputs that powers two high-definition displays, enabling users to power through multiple tasks and workloads with the same speed and efficiency that they would get working on a traditional desktop.

The Xenith 3 was designed-for-Citrix and is certified to run a wide range of Citrix environments, including the new Dell Wyse Datacenter for Citrix XenDesktop 7.5. Dell’s comprehensive reference architectures are ISV certified and tested to run the applications that organizations need and provide a blueprint for new virtualization deployments, making it quick and easy to select and implement the solution that best fits their requirements. This now includes workstation and high-end graphics use-cases with the recently announced Dell Wyse Datacenter for Virtual Workstations.

Desktop Virtualization without Limits

Engineering, architecture, film production and graphic design organizations can now leverage the Dell Wyse Datacenter for Virtual Workstations to provide certified infrastructure  capable of virtualizing the most popular applications from partners like Adobe, Autodesk, Dassault Systemes, Siemens and others and with the announcement of the new Dell Wyse 7490 quad-display thin client, they can empower their employees and maximize their productivity.

The 7490 quad-display thin client is designed for creative use-cases and is powered by a quad-core processor, accelerated graphics and quad display outputs to make creative employees feel right at home. Designed in a deceptively small form factor, the quad-display 7490 has the performance to tackle the most intensive workloads and satisfy the needs of even the most demanding CAD engineer or securities trader.

And what mobile-focused show would be complete without our mobile clients?  We’re showing XPS 18, XPS 13, XPS 12, Latitude laptops, and our Venue 8, Venue 8 Pro, and Venue 11 Pro tablets.  All of our client solutions are working hard for attendees of this event.  And we’re showing products from ESG and DSG to round out the end to end story.

Dell End-to-End Desktop Virtualization All Under One Brand

Dell is also making it simpler and easier for organizations to select the right products and services to enable their journey to virtualization. Effective now, “Wyse” will be a full Dell brand—like Latitude is for business laptops—for everything desktop virtualization, including infrastructure, software and clients. Organizations now have the confidence to find the right products that work together and meet all of their end-to-end virtual desktop needs.

Dell has constantly been applying the insights we have gained from customers to provide innovative products and solutions that make anyone, anywhere and any device a reality for organizations everywhere.
