Dell Networking has been on a roll recently. Recent 4Q 2012 reports show Dell with a fourth straight quarter of increased market share in Level 2 and Level 3 networks, surpassing Juniper networks. This happens while we maintain our #3 ranking for both 10Gb and 40Gb Ethernet markets. On the technology front, a recent Gartner analyst report titled “Rightsizing the Enterprise Data Center Network” speaks to research that shows that new fixed form factor switches can reduce the data center core network’s longstanding reliance on costlier and oversized chassis-based switches. At Dell, we’ve always supported innovative and alternate ways of solving problems, and this extends to our approach to the network.
In complete agreement with this report, two weeks ago we announced new networking products and solutions. In case you missed it, we introduced:
- The new Dell Networking Active Fabric – a solution to deliver software defined networking (SDN) capabilities for easily-scalable data center fabric designs at a fraction the cost of traditional architectures.
- Active Fabric Manager – for a graphical user interface that provides single-pane-of-glass planning, configuration, management and monitoring of active fabrics, reducing design and deployment times by up to 86 percent.
- The new Dell Networking S5000 converged LAN/SAN platform – nominated as a finalist for this year’s Best of Interop – our first 1U modular, top-of-rack switch providing pay-as-you-grow Ethernet and Fibre Channel connectivity. (will add “best of” graphic and/or product image)
What’s exciting for me is that next week, May 6-10, 2013, we will not just be talking about, but showing these products and solutions live at Interop Las Vegas, 2013, on experts on hand to answer any questions you might have. Interop has been a great technology conference for Dell Networking, and this year we have exciting new solutions that help our customers realize their goals around convergence, simplified network management, BYOD, and much more. In fact, the Dell booth presentations will cover Dell’s end-to-end solutions spanning servers, storage, application modernization, security, mobility, remote desktops, all the way to OpenStack solutions and hybrid.
For more details on our presence at the event, please check out the Dell Interop 2013 wiki.
I hope you’ll attend Interop Las Vegas 2013 and seek us out at the Dell booth (#1127) to learn more about how Dell technology can help you organization’s needs.
