For over thirty years, Phil’s passion has been IT operational management. He joined Dell in 2023 upon its acquisition of Moogsoft where he was CEO. In addition to Moogsoft, he also founded started four other companies that achieved marketplace success, including Micromuse (IBM), Riversoft (MicroMuse), Njini (Riverbed) and Prelert (Elastic). As the inventor of IT operations technologies, Phil has over fifty patents, is a recognized market disruptor and is one of the founders of the AIOps (artificial intelligence for IT operations) software market.
He now leads Dell’s AIOps and observability software innovation, is highly published and is the Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Sussex, England.
