The Alienware X51 is getting an upgrade. Starting today, the new AMD Radeon R9 270X graphics card will now be available on our small but mighty gaming desktop. Now customers will have more graphics options to choose from on the X51.
I talked with Bryan de Zayas, our Marketing Director of Alienware, and this is what he had to say about the new addition: “The flexibility of the X51 gaming desktop has been well received by our customers, as it serves the needs of gamers looking for a rig that will fit into any room while still delivering high-end gaming performance. Whether gaming in the living room or the den, being immersed in your favorite game is critical to the overall experience. With the AMD Radeon R9 270X, the X51 enables gamers to enjoy the stunning visuals and high resolution of their favorite games, on any TV in the house.”
Here are some of the features that stood out to me on the AMD Radeon R9 270X:
Ultra-High Resolution and Eyefinity Support– The AMD Radeon R9 270X provides the ability for higher resolution with the ability to connect to a 4K monitor or multiple HD monitors.
Mantle– Games enabled with Mantle use the Catalyst software to speak directly with the Graphics Core Next architecture that the game was designed with. This provides you with a faster and more visually appealing gaming experience.
DirectX 11.2– The AMD Radeon R9 270X supports the latest DirectX 11.2 graphics features with the GCN architecture.
Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Audio Support- 7.1 channel surround sound over HDMI and DisplayPort.
Display Flexibility– Multiple display options including: dual-link DVI-I, DisplayPort, and HDMI.
As a gamer, I enjoyed testing the new graphics card in my X51. The gaming performance was solid. The images were crisp and the game flowed smoothly. For more information and pricing, click here.
