OpenStack’s growth shows no sign of slowing down, thanks in great part to its large developer community (more than 1,900 developers worldwide contributed to the latest OpenStack release), as well as the vast and ever-expanding ecosystem of technologies that enhance or extend core OpenStack functionality.
Dell is a strong supporter of the OpenStack ecosystem. And through our Technology Partner Program (TPP), we work with many OpenStack ecosystem contributors to ensure compatibility with Dell platforms and technologies.
We are excited to welcome Mirantis as a new Technology Partner. Mirantis OpenStack is now certified on Dell PowerEdge servers with Dell Networking.
Today, Mirantis is announcing the release of a reference architecture for implementing Mirantis OpenStack with Dell PowerEdge and Dell Networking platforms. Created by Mirantis, this architecture will assist customers in building massively scalable, OpenStack-powered clouds with Mirantis and Dell technologies. We look forward to facilitating our joint customers’ success with OpenStack.
Our partnerships are very much in line with Dell’s approach to cloud solutions: to provide highly flexible architectures so our customers can deploy the options that best align with their needs. Take, for example, our support for multiple network switches in our Dell OpenStack architecture. Many customers choose to build their OpenStack environments with the prescribed Dell Networking S3038 and S4048 switches, but we also offer the option to deploy using Dell Networking S6000 switches. Dell provides guidance to our customers in the form of Technical Deployment Guides to help them implement supported choices.
Given that philosophy, and our collaboration with partners like Mirantis, it’s no surprise that more and more OpenStack users choose to deploy OpenStack with Dell server, storage, and networking platforms. Customers demand a high degree of choice and integration options. And we deliver.
If you’ll be at OpenStack Summit, come see us at booth D6! And if your organization is active in the OpenStack technology ecosystem, and you would like to explore collaborating with Dell, we would like to hear from you.
