RESPONSE (Building Rewarding Relationships) faces tight deadline to ensure security compliance

In today’s digital economy, we think nothing of giving our credit or debit card details to a website or call centre to process a payment. We assume it’s safe, but what we don’t know is how much goes on behind the scenes to keep those payments secure.

Glasgow-based contact centre RESPONSE (Building Rewarding Relationships) processes vast amounts of highly sensitive consumer data for some of the UK’s top brands. Like others in the industry, it was facing a looming deadline to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). And, if RESPONSE (Building Rewarding Relationships) failed to meet this deadline, it was looking at heavy fines.

Gary Queen, Communications Systems Manager at RESPONSE (Building Rewarding Relationships), knew that his team had to get things right first time. He says: “Dell SecureWorks ticked every box. It focuses exclusively on security services, so we knew we could rely on its specialist skills.” Teams from Dell SecureWorks on both sides of the Atlantic worked together with RESPONSE (Building Rewarding Relationships) to put in place a PCI portfolio and parameter security, and manage the company firewall – all against the clock.

And the result? “Thanks to Dell SecureWorks, we fulfilled the requirements of the PCI audit and became one of the first 100 companies in the UK to achieve compliance,” says Gary. “It’s an important strategic accreditation that allows us to attract new customers and retain existing ones.”

Moreover, RESPONSE (Building Rewarding Relationships) was able to attain ISO 27001 certification with the help of the Dell SecureWorks Log Retention service.

But the company’s commitment to data security doesn’t end there. It has to renew its PCI accreditation each year, and is confident that it can meet these continued requirements with its flexible three-year Dell SecureWorks contract. Gary says: “If we add extra devices, our Dell SecureWorks contract expands to include them. It’s a dynamic model that suits us perfectly.”
