I suggested on Chuck's blog in a comment that I thought EMC didn't exactly handle this thing very well and he responded by saying this:

Maybe like this more balanced piece in the WSJ , Chuck?
As much as the hard working, public-facing EMC bloggers and PR folks want to find a way to put this to rest, this deal yesterday is going to be a bothersome image problem for some time.
Not renewing Diane Greene's contract may have been the best thing for the company, but that doesn't mean it was a work of art. So Chuck gets left holding the bag. Lo siento.
