Dell Takes Home the Gold at 2015 Global Technology Distribution Council Summit

This year has been very positive for Dell’s rapidly evolving business with Distribution. We have continued to enjoy double digit growth globally and with all of our key strategic Distribution partners. We have also made excellent progress with the SMB focused partners for Ingram Micro, Tech Data and SYNNEX in the United States. Dell was a major sponsor and had keynote presentations at all three of these distributor events, making major program announcements which have all led to enhanced revenue and interest in Dell from the SMB partner communities. In addition, Dell recently named both Ingram Micro and SYNNEX as Dell Federal authorized distribution partners.

This week is no exception at I’m at the 2015 Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC) Summit North America, held in San Francisco. I’m joined by Dell’s David Miketinac, executive director of North America distribution business and Jonas Brown, director of North America distribution business. This event is the yearly gathering of all the North American Distribution and vendor executives, providing us with an opportunity to share insights, best practices and network with the intent of improving the overall IT supply chain. We were delighted to learn during last night’s event that we won the organization's Gold Rising Star award in the category for Hardware revenue of $500 million or more in North America and Europe!

Last year, the organization recognized Dell with its Silver Rising Star Award in the same category – now not only are we among some of the best in the distribution business for the second year in a row, we are also one of only 12 overall U.S. winners chosen from hundreds of manufacturers and publishers who rely on distributors to meet the product and service requirements of technology solution providers nationwide. This is indeed a great honor and a testament to the hard work that our teams supporting the North America distribution business are doing.

The Global Technology Distribution Council is an industry consortium representing the world's leading tech distributors, and its members drive more than $135 billion in annual worldwide sales of products, services and solutions through diverse business channels. Its annual North America Rising Star Awards recognize technology companies with exceptional year-over-year sales growth through North American distributors.

Receiving the Silver award last year was an important validation to our Channel strategy, and now receiving the Gold award further solidifies that we are on the right track in our distribution approach. Dell’s revenue through this model is growing fast, not only for North American distribution partners but across the pond in EMEA too, where we've seen a two-fold increase in demand for deals through distributors. Meanwhile, we've continued deepening existing relationships in other regions, such as in Brazil, where Ingram Micro is now part of a team dedicated to Dell to sell both client and enterprise solutions.

Distribution will continue being a key piece of Dell's omni-channel strategy. We are providing tremendous opportunity for our partners to utilize their expertise and knowledge to position Dell integrated solutions to customers, whether they are of large-scale and can operate across multiple regions or smaller ones who specialize in particular solutions or geographies.

We look forward to catching up with you while we're on the road in Toronto at our Channel Partner Summit,  September 16-17; or, in Austin October 20-22, 2015, at Dell World, our flagship event bringing together technology and business professionals to network, share ideas and help co-create a better future.
