Each year, CRN recognizes channel executives for their industry expertise and leadership with its Channel Chiefs Awards—one of the highest honors in the industry. Earlier today, CRN announced their picks for the 2019 Channel Chiefs awards. Six Dell executives were honored for their exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to their channel partner programs.
Channel Chiefs honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff as a result of their professional achievements, standing in the industry, dedication to the channel partner community, and strategies for driving future growth and innovation.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Dell channel executives have been recognized as CRN Channel Chiefs. Congratulations to Gregg Ambulos, Cheryl Cook, Jim DeFoe, Kelli Furrer, Joyce Mullen, and Jay Snyder. In addition, Joyce Mullen and Cheryl Cook were named to CRN’s ‘Most Influential’ list. Gregg Ambulos, Cheryl Cook, Jim DeFoe, Joyce Mullen and Jay Snyder have also all been honored in previous years.
Joyce Mullen, president of global channels, OEM and IoT solutions, was named to CRN’s ‘Most Influential’ list for the second straight year. This year, Joyce drove double digit growth rates in a $43B Dell Technologies Global Channel business and improved partner satisfaction ratings—delivering on the organization’s priority of making it easier for partners to do more business with Dell.
Cheryl Cook, also recognized among CRN’s ‘Most Influential’ for a second year, is senior vice president of Global Channel Marketing for Dell, and is responsible for developing the global channel marketing strategy. She also manages the global channel marketing programs that enable partners to grow their business with Dell. Over the past year, Cheryl partnered with Joyce Mullen to spearhead a company-wide initiative to grow all routes to market while enabling predictable sales engagement—resulting in the Partner Preferred Program.
Gregg Ambulos, senior vice president of North America Channel Sales for Dell, has been named to the CRN Channel Chiefs list since 2008. In his role, Gregg is responsible for creating and delivering sales growth across the entire Dell portfolio of products, including PCs, Workstations, Servers, Storage, Networking and Services through Dell’s North America ecosystem of more than 50,000 solution provider and distribution partners. This year, under Gregg’s leadership, partners helped Dell become the undisputed worldwide share leader in x86 servers, both in units and revenue. In addition, partners helped us achieve triple-digit growth for VxRail and VxRack and we outperformed the PC industry, hitting the highest share position to date for worldwide units and commercial units.
This is the first year that Kelli Furrer, vice president of federal channels and alliances, has been recognized by CRN as a Channel Chief. Kelli combines her experience designing and implementing the federal marketing strategy, the launch of a new customer-first Digital Transformation Summit series and account executive to design and deliver mission critical solutions across the federal business. Just one year into a fully combined Dell Federal program, Kelli has helped the overall federal business to grow at a robust 18 percent rate enabled by VMware channel growth and cross sell of the Dell Technologies portfolio. In the Federal Channel Program, 75 percent of partners are growing and 55% are growing at a rate of 50% year over year or better.
Jay Snyder, senior vice president, Global Alliances, Service Providers and Industries has led EMC’s (now Dell) Global Alliances Organization since 2015. Snyder focuses on bringing uniquely differentiated industry solutions to market through strategic relationships with systems integrators, strategic outsourcers and cloud service providers. Throughout the past year, Jay has grown the Global Alliances business by nearly 25%, and will close the current fiscal year having overachieved on both our storage and margin targets.
In addition to Dell, CRN recognized prominent channel leaders from other Dell Technologies companies including Brian Breton, Senior Director, Global Channel Strategy and Americas Channel Sales, RSA, and Jenni Flinders, Global Channel Chief of VMware. In addition, both were also named to CRN’s ‘Most Influential’ list.
