Symantec Vision 2010 a Hit

My good friend Sarah Doherty was the Storage face of Dell this week at Symantec Vision 2010 in Vegas.  Outside of being treated like a rockstar at the MGM Grand, she’s had an amazing time connecting with event-goers and participating in key breakout sessions and lab demos.  Check out her quick recap below of the conference so far.

Dell and Symantec – another successful VISION 2010 customer event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with over 2,000 global attendees.  Dell’s sponsorship and participation was well received by all those in attendance.  We kicked off the event with our own star, Darren Thomas, VP Enterprise Storage who was part of the opening keynote.  Darren was successful in matching wit with the host (about 1:23:11 on the video), Steve Morton and even had the opportunity to talk about his true “Top Gun” experiences.  He nailed our approach on open standards instead of the proprietary approach others are taking.  Our IDM strategy was part of the discussion with particular focus on our new DX Object Storage Platform.

Dell’s was present throughout the show highlighted as part of the exhibition floor.  Customers were able to take advantage of the ever popular Dell hands-on lab open during the entire event.  And to top it all off, our 3 Dell sessions were well attended and our presenters outdid themselves this year in engaging with attendees – laptop giveaways sponsored by Symantec always help!

Thanks to Symantec for a great event!!
