At VMworld 2011 in Las Vegas, Dell will highlight Dell | VMware solutions
portfolios that epitomize the Power to Do More: End User to Cloud. Dell’s focus
will highlight the agility, efficiency and fluidity of Dell’s virtualization
solutions stack. Attendees can engage in conversations with Dell subject matter
experts in Booths 901 and 911 as well as learn the details in our break-out
sessions. If you cannot attend VMworld 2011, you can still follow the Dell
discussions and engagements at Dell at
VMworld. Dell solutions through a close partnership and engineering
relationship with VMware address customer needs in end-user computing, data
center virtualization and storage with intelligent data management environments.
Ultimately, this provides the foundation for cloud-based delivery.
- Agile. Dell
Virtual Integrated System (VIS) provides the ability to rapidly provision
resources, ease virtualization deployment, streamline network configuration and
create policy based automation to deploy & manage resources in VMware
environments. Dell VIS consists of Dell
Advanced Infrastructure Manager (AIM) and Dell
Self-Service Creator (SSC). - Efficient. Dell vStart
provides a fully configured and ready to deploy racked configuration running
VMware vSphere. This allows quick and efficient addition of virtualization
infrastructure into a data center. The best practices are already implemented in
the racked solution stack. Next, with the Dell
Management Plug-in for VMware vCenter (DMPVV), an IT admin can quickly check
hardware inventory details, perform bare metal deployments, get cluster level
view of Dell servers, receive alerts, pull online warranty info and update
firmware and BIOS from the VMware vCenter user interface. Best of all, the DMPVV
is free to try before you buy. - Fluid. Dell Storage defines
fluidity with the Dell | PowerVault
MD, EqualLogic
and Compellent
storage arrays. Dell’s intelligent data management solutions provide enterprise
class features with ease of use & deployment for deploying in VMware
virtualization environments. Dell Storage does this through Host Integration
Tools for VMware that provide virtual appliances, vCenter integration &
tools to manage the datastore, snapshots and deployment. Dell Storage integrates
with VMware’s vStorage APIs to provide customers a seamless experience with Dell
and VMware technologies.
All of these components combine to connect the end user to the cloud with
Dell and VMware.
