The VMware Multi-Cloud is closer than you think
VMworld 2018 kicked off today here in Las Vegas with many announcements of innovations designed to drive IT transformation and accelerate the path to the multi-cloud in VMware environments. Dell is known for working closely with VMware to jointly engineer industry-leading HCI solutions tailored to align with our customers where they are on their cloud adoption cycle, and today is no different.
On stage today, customers got a taste of how Dell VxRail and VxRack SDDC serve as cloud platforms that deliver a pre-engineered and pre-tested solution to meet the majority of their use cases whether it is Cloud Native Applications, Traditional Applications, Reference Architectures, Public Cloud or Hybrid Deployment options.
These fully integrated systems are turnkey IaaS platforms and provide the foundational infrastructure for PaaS solutions to run applications on-premises or off-premises. Both are future proofed for next generation VMware Cloud technologies, and allow extensibility to public cloud providers such as VMware Cloud on AWS or multi-cloud container services such as Pivotal.
How powerful are they in driving the path to the multi-cloud?
VxRack SDDC powered by VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) brings together VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX into a natively integrated stack to deliver enterprise-ready cloud infrastructure. The exclusive automation and serviceability extensions provide additional value beyond SDDC Manager, making VxRack SDDC the most advanced VCF integrated system. The result of this platform is obvious in how customers are able to deploy a private cloud up to 15x faster and accelerate IaaS delivery with up to 20% quicker application provisioning.
VxRail is offering more options for customers to realize a VMware multi-cloud vision as well by adding distributed multi-availability zones architecture and multi-region (or multi-site) deployments with disaster recovery to the available VMware Validated Designs for VxRail. This allows customers to reduce risk and simplify operations and maintenance by building a validated, standardized SDDC design that is based on VMware’s best practices.
And if that wasn’t enough, VMware announced its VMware Cloud Services at VMworld this morning of which Dell VxRail will be the first and only HCI appliance to provide native integrations that seamlessly work with VMware Cloud Assembly. As more services are added, VxRail customers will be able to easily consume them as part of their hybrid cloud architecture.
