Dell’s leading edge commitment to community via support forums, blogs and IdeaStorm is intended to “empower countries, communities, customers, and people everywhere to use technology to realize their dreams.”

I am pleased to join the Dell effort in a conversation with you, our customers, partners and champions on the subject of cloud computing. My focus at Dell is on our global rollout of enterprise public clouds; however, I plan to blog on a variety of cloud related topics and strongly encourage you to participate.

I spent the last four years as the open source community manager for both Xen.org and OpenStack. I also have previous experience in development and partner marketing at Citrix Systems, and have written control software on a real-time operating system (pSOS) for telecommunications products. Moving up the layers from low-level hypervisor virtualization to cloud infrastructure software gives me a unique perspective on cloud computing from the ground up.

In addition to my comments on the cloud computing marketplace, I intend to reach out to many industry leaders in cloud computing and virtualization to provide you with interviews and ideas from across the spectrum to further educate and share knowledge.  Covering a variety of topics within the cloud computing space as well as providing unique perspectives from established vendors and early-stage startups, my blog posts will provide you a place to learn, question and interact as the cloud market continues to shake up our industry.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being a part of this journey together. Feel free to contact me in the comments section below, on twitter @SpectorAtDell or reach out to me directly here.
