Dell – Putting customers first with Industry Firsts at MMS 2012

When spring is in the air here in Texas, that means it’s show time in Vegas for Dell as a platinum sponsor of the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) events. And without exception, this is the year that Dell and Microsoft have more to show and share with our customers than ever before!

Dell’s systems management portfolios have expanded, our number of joint customers with Microsoft has grown, and we now offer an amazing continuum of co-developed solutions that help businesses of all sizes effectively manage evolving IT environments – from data center to private cloud to public cloud. At MMS 2012, held at The Venetian April 16-20, Microsoft will officially introduce current and soon to be released System Center 2012 products and Dell will take the stage with  OpenManage™ Integration Suite for Microsoft System Center 2012, featuring the intelligent embedded management feature of Dell PowerEdge 12th generation servers.

Starring roles in simplifying and automating IT management

At Dell, we are committed to supporting our customers who are using Microsoft, which is why we develop systems management solutions that are not just more efficient, but offer several “Industry First” features. Beginning with the initial introduction of Microsoft System Center and the System Center Alliance in November 2007, Dell received recognition as the first partner to offer integrated products for System Center and delivered on our promise to reduce the number of tools customers need to manage their infrastructure.   Since the time Dell was first to offer server update catalogs and began integration of Server Deployment Packs for System Center Configuration Manager 2007, Dell has remained committed to our partnership with Microsoft and to leading the industry in helping customers simplify and automate the management of physical and virtual IT environments.

Other Dell “Industry First” features:

2012 Industry First

Saving time and expense by firing those costly agents

The Dell OpenManage™ Integration Suite for Microsoft System Center 2012 ensures that customers can utilize their existing investment in System Center to uniformly manage Dell servers without requiring installation of an OpenManage agent.  Customers can save an average of $250 per server over the lifecycle of each PowerEdge 12th generation server with agent-free deployment, update, monitoring and maintenance.  Even better, agent-free updates in multi-vendor OS and hypervisor environments can be performed uniformly saving more time and expense.

Dell Lifecycle Controller Integration (DLCI) Pack for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) enables agent-free, automated, remote one-to-many updates through the SCCM console across multiple PowerEdge 11th and 12th generation servers, each with different operating systems and hypervisors.  And it can be done 5x faster than another brand of servers in a comparable multi- vendor OS environment.
