Dell Graphics Card

After the processor, memory and storage, the graphics card is probably the most important component of the PC.

Whether watching movies or surfing the web, the quality of your experience is influenced by the characteristics of your graphics card. Graphics cards determine the sharpness of images, the brightness of colors and the accuracy of movements on the screen.

How to choose a video card

The graphics card decides the quality of the image that goes to the screen. It works as its own computer, with processor and memory, being responsible for the complete graphics processing. It's safe to say that the more powerful the graphics card, the more fps (or frames per second) you can see at higher resolutions.

On the Dell website, you will find products with two types of video cards: integrated and dedicated. But what is the difference between an integrated and a dedicated graphics card?

Integrated or dedicated card?

  1. Integrated video card

An integrated graphics card uses the computer's RAM memory to perform its tasks. As such, it is designed for entry-level notebooks that are not graphics-intensive.

That is, it consumes more memory and can slow down the computer when the video card is in high demand, such as in games or image editing programs, but it is more economical, in addition to reducing energy consumption and noise emissions.

  2. Dedicated video card

The dedicated graphics card has its own memory for tasks, leaving the RAM memory free for other actions, speeding up your machine's graphics performance to view more vivid and less pixelated images.

It is designed for anyone looking to watch movies in high definition, video intensive applications, use of graphics software and for more powerful games.

It's important to know that having a dedicated graphics card doesn't mean you won't have a graphics card integrated in your machine, as all our PCs with a dedicated graphics card have the graphics card integrated.
