Utah resort serves up a reliable guest experience, and big IT savings

Park City Mountain Resort relies heavily on technology to provide a top-class service for guests. The resort deployed a Dell virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) to streamline and enhance the guest experience with more personalized customer interaction, while cutting server costs by $50,000. On the slopes and on the road, staff stay in touch and productive with handheld devices. SKIDATA, a contactless, radio-frequency identification-based app allows staff to check guests’ ski passes on a tablet. In the office, employees have a true cloud client computing solution via their Dell Wyse thin clients. The VDI environment also powers the resort’s point-of-sale system. It was also looking to develop a commercial solution for organizations across China.
