Today we announced our Global Small Business Excellence Award Winner, Wiggly Wigglers from Hereford, England. Heather Gorringe, Wiggly Wigglers’ founder and director has had a whirlwind of a year. She received a Dell Small Business Excellence Award, participated in best best practice sharing with Michael Dell, but also, got the surprise of her career when she received a call from Michael in mid-October informing her she was the winner of the inaugural Global Dell Small Business Excellence Award.
Not having a green thumb, I normally stay far, far away from anything related to plants or gardening. However, when I first heard that Wiggly Wigglers uses social media to grow their small business, I needed to know more. The video below gives you the scoop on this innovative small business.
In September, when we launched the Social Media for Small Business page on Facebook, Wiggly Wigglers was the first small business we profiled. Social media helps Wiggly Wigglers connect with current customers and reach out to potential new ones. The business has an active blog, popular gardening podcast and a solid following on Facebook.
