Dell, VMware and ESG discuss data protection innovation – for on premises and cloud environments – via online Crowd Chat
Dell and VMware leaders, along with industry experts, recently engaged in a live online Crowd Chat to discuss how Dell and VMware are working together to deliver world-class data protection for VMware environments – on premises and in the cloud. Specifically, they discussed how Dell and VMware collaborate to:
- Bring easiest to manage, most powerful and comprehensive data protection for VMware environments
- Seamlessly extend VMware data protection to the Cloud
- Deliver enterprise-level data protection to mid-size organizations with Dell’s latest Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) DP4400
During the Crowd Chat, Beth Phalen, President of Dell’s Data Protection Division, provided an overview of the latest data protection innovations from Dell.

Ruya Atac-Barrett, VP of Product Marketing for Dell Data Protection, then provided an overview of how Dell provides superior data protection for VMware environments. Specifically, she discussed how Dell data protection is simpler – easier to deploy and manage – but at the same time, more powerful – more comprehensive and higher performing.

The discussion then moved on to how Dell delivers no-compromise data protection– on premises and in the cloud – with the new Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) DP4400. Atac-Barrett described how it provides simply powerful data protection for mid-size customers, at the lowest cost-to-protect.

But, don’t take our word for it. Senior Validation Analyst at ESG, Vinny Choinski, can speak first hand as to how easy the IDPA DP4400 is to deploy:

Choinski also conducted extensive performance testing versus a leading competitor. He found that the IDPA DP4400 outperformed the competition significantly.

In addition, using real customer data, Choinski confirmed that the IDPA can serve data protection environments for a fraction of a penny per month—making the IDPA DP4400 the lowest cost-to-protect.

Choinski’s expert opinion on the IDPA DP4400 is that Dell has done everything right and “has nailed this one.”
