IdeaStorm will be unavailable due to site maintenance beginning at 6:30 p.m. CST today. We expect the site maintenance to take no longer than 30 minutes, so no need to panic, we’ll all just take a little break from IdeaStorm. When you log back on later today, be sure to check out a couple new site improvements:
- Comment pagination: Recently, the volume of comments for certain ideas (mainly our Linux ideas, of course) has caused a long load-time for those pages. With today’s site maintenance, comments will now be paginated every 100 comments. Thanks to cosh for the idea! You’ll find the pagination links at the bottom of the page of an idea. As you know, we’re frequently making improvements to the site and we’ll be monitoring the new functionality for any needed improvements.
- Stats Refresh: The cache refresh on IdeaStorm’s site-wide statistics shown on the home page will now occur every few minutes instead of each hour. With this improvement, the Dell Community will have the most up-to-date statistics on the overall number of ideas, votes and comments submitted on IdeaStorm.
