Today, Michael Dell and the Dell OEM Solutions team are at Emerson Process Management, a global process control and automation leader, to help celebrate the grand opening of the new Emerson Innovation Center – Process Systems & Solutions, near Dell headquarters in Round Rock, Texas. The third Emerson Innovation Center in the world, the facility also is home to the company’s first Integrated Operations Center designed to help oil and gas, chemical, refining and other industrial customers realize the economic and safety benefits of real-time collaboration and decision-making. The Emerson Innovation Center, and Dell’s contributions, marks another example of Texas as the intersection of technology, the Industrial Internet, and manufacturing.
I am happy to announce we will contribute to the event through presentations, interviews and tours of the new Center with partners, industry leaders and local officials. Michael Dell will speak about Dell and Emerson’s long-term strategic collaboration and track record in delivering innovations in industrial automation.
I’m also excited to report Texas Governor Rick Perry will also speak at the ceremony about how Texas is becoming a leader in technology innovation that’s improving our world, including the work that Dell and Emerson are doing together.
The new Innovation Center will deliver solutions that help a multitude of organizations around the world improve productivity by increasing output, cutting production costs, reducing energy use, and improving safety and emissions. Now organizations in the chemical, oil and gas, refining, pulp and paper, power, water and wastewater treatment, mining and metals, food and beverage, and life sciences industries all have the ability to see and make decisions real-time to ensure the best performance for their operations – whether that’s on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean or a processing plant overseas.
Dell OEM and Emerson first launched a strategic collaboration nearly 20 years ago. Recently, Emerson partnered with Dell to deploy the Emerson DeltaV™ Digital Automation System, which allows customers to expedite developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative products and services. Emerson is also using Dell Precision workstations, Dell PowerEdge servers, Dell PowerVault storage arrays, Dell PowerEdge VRTX and Dell Wyse thin clients to power key elements of the DeltaV system. Emerson relies on Dell’s OEM-Ready platforms and its Dell OEM XL Program to further increase DeltaV’s availability, stability and flexibility.
Today we mark a milestone in the strategic collaboration between Dell and Emerson, and look forward to continuing to deliver ground-breaking solutions through our ongoing relationship in the future. It’s a celebration of what is possible when a customer teams up with Dell OEM to create innovative solutions for core business challenges.
