At VCE, we work hard to ensure we’re taking the latest technologies from our investor partners and integrating them “first and best” into Vblock Systems. Through our close alignment, we ensure that our customers get access to these new products so they can quickly realize the benefits through converged infrastructure. Today VCE is excited to support a number of new EMC product innovations unveiled at EMC’s “Redefine Possible” launch event in London. EMC announced a major new release of its VMAX product line, which will provide the industry’s first open enterprise data service platform, as well as significant updates and upgrades to EMC Isilon and XtremIO.
We think these new technologies are game changers in storage innovation and will provide VCE customers with new opportunities to further their journey to the cloud.
Let’s start with EMC’s VMAX3 enterprise data service platform. This new version of VMAX brings fundamental changes for what’s possible in enterprise storage as an enterprise data service platform that gives customers more control of where to run specific workloads, providing the agility and efficiency required for cloud computing. The new VMAX will be rapidly integrated into the VCE Vblock System 700 family and offered by VCE with full support. This is a great next step for enabling enterprises and service providers as they deploy hybrid cloud environments.
EMC also introduced major upgrades, platforms and solutions for the EMC Isilon family that advance customers’ ability to handle massive amounts of unstructured data with enterprise-grade, scale-out Data Lakes. In addition, EMC introduced new features and configurations for XtremIO that offer greater scale for performance-intensive workloads.
We’re particularly excited about these new EMC Isilon and XtremIO innovations. VCE announced today that we will offer EMC Isilon and XtremIO technology extensions to Vblock Systems. This means we will bring the full VCE Experience to EMC Isilon and XtremIO – VCE will pre-integrate, pre-test and pre-validate these products as options for customers ordering Vblock Systems, and we will offer them as extensions to the Vblock portfolio with full, single-call support from VCE and inclusion in VCE’s release compatibility matrix to ensure seamless product updates.
We think this is HUGE for customers who want to bring the economics, agility and simplicity of converged infrastructure delivered through the VCE Experience to address existing and emerging use cases such as VDI, database-as-a-service, high-performance computing and data warehousing.
EMC continues to raise the bar in storage innovation, and we’re happy to work with EMC to help customers rapidly realize the full potential of these innovations in deploying cloud-ready environments through VCE converged infrastructure.
