As you may have noticed, Dell is more than a little bullish about the launch of Windows 10. We were first to give our customers the ability to pre-order a Windows 10 device, the first to get those devices into their hands, and had more Windows 10 products available in retail on the day of launch than any other manufacturer. With reports already surfacing that Windows 10 is a big hit with more than 75 million downloads in the first month, we’re very excited to help accelerate that momentum into the commercial space as well. Now commercial customers can experience the power and simplicity of Windows 10 Pro.
Over the last two years, our engineers worked side-by-side with Microsoft to help develop Windows 10 and ensure the absolute best solutions for our customers. I’m very pleased with the results. Our entire client portfolio has been designed with Windows 10 Pro in mind and we’re optimizing its new features to make sure you get the most out of your systems. For example, using the Cortana personal virtual assistant through Dell’s premium audio features, including studio-quality voice enhancement with MaxxAudio by Waves, makes it easy to interact with your device on the go or in the office. In addition, Dell’s expanding portfolio of 2-in-1 devices and tablets take advantage of the new Continuum feature offering a seamless transition between optimized tablet and desktop software modes, making multi-tasking easy. And Dell systems equipped with the 3D Real Sense camera deliver the fastest and most reliable login through Microsoft Hello providing easy and secure management of your passwords and personal information.
Speaking of security, it remains the top concern for our commercial customers. We’re proud to continue leading the industry by delivering the most secure PCs in the world and that leadership will continue through the Windows 10 era as well. The Dell Data Protection portfolio allows our customers to protect their data at the file level, so it remains encrypted no matter where it goes, from the end-point to the data center or cloud. We’re also the only vendor to combine encryption, advanced authentication and leading malware protection software for a comprehensive solution carefully constructed to work in harmony to secure your organization’s data. We’ve also centralized the management console for all of this security software to help IT professionals more effectively manage their security solutions. We are the only OEM with more than 60 Windows 10 Driver Packs available at launch – all of which will help IT administrators transition to Windows 10 with confidence.
Part of our commitment to making IT managers’ lives easier is helping them provision and install Windows 10 quickly and easily. Dell has a team of highly experienced PC deployment project managers and a unique, cloud-based deployment tracking system that has helped deploy more than a million PCs every year for Dell customers around the globe. We use a set of patented methodologies combined with industry standard technologies to help customers automate their deployment processes saving them significant time and money when adopting Windows 10. And of course once everything has been deployed, our ProSupport and ProSupport Plus for PCs and Tablets services can help cut costs and increase productivity across your Dell hardware and software infrastructure, lessening the burden on IT professionals by significantly reducing day-to-day administrative tasks. In fact, with ProSupport Plus for PCs and Tablets, Dell is the first in the industry to offer proactive and predictive support on PCs and tablets enabled by Dell’s SupportAssist technology, meaning our customers spend up to 84 percent less time on technical support calls and take up to 58 percent fewer steps to resolve common hardware issues than key competitors.
What’s most important for our commercial customers is keeping their team members productive – and this really speaks to the beauty of Windows 10 Pro. The Windows Applications Store adds legacy application support (32 bit), as well as new commercial features such as organization identities, volume licensing, flexible distribution and license reclaim/re-use. And finally, Microsoft has simplified management and deployment to help lower costs, providing businesses with more choice in how quickly they adopt the latest innovations.
This is an exciting time for the PC industry and I firmly believe Windows 10 Pro will be very well received by our commercial customers. As the only end-to-end IT solutions and services provider, we will give customers the best possible experience using this fantastic platform. From securing data, to managing their fleet efficiently, to maximizing employee productivity, Dell is ready to work with every customer to make the transition to a Windows 10-based infrastructure. This is a great platform for users and IT professionals alike and we have some more exciting news to come. We look forward to showcasing our fully revamped commercial solutions portfolio in the near future, so watch this space because there will be much, much more happening in the weeks ahead.
