Dell Technologies World is a premier customer and partner event where lauded innovators, disrupters and luminaries all share the stage to talk about the biggest trends shaping our industry. At the event’s heart is the latest and greatest technology driving customer outcomes. For Dell, it often foreshadows where we are placing our bets and investing in exciting growth areas for us and the industry.
This year at Dell Technologies World, we’re meeting with service providers and customers to discuss the opportunities with 5G and edge, or multi-access edge computing (MEC). And with good reason.
In fact, Dell recently commissioned research from TechTarget’s Enterprise Strategy Group to detail and document the adoption and use of 5G and its complementary technologies. The survey captured responses from 662 global IT and line-of-business (LOB) decision-makers and found 95% of enterprises have formally quantified or are in the process of quantifying the value of private 5G networks. What’s more, 89% of the firms in the survey have allocated and approved budgets. Within industry verticals, manufacturing and energy and natural resources stood out as identifying private 5G as their single highest network priority. Across all verticals, respondents cited enhanced and new user experiences, increased safety and improved operational efficiency as the top benefits.
Service providers play a critical role in deploying private wireless and edge solutions, delivering spectrum, design and deployment expertise as customers roll out both new environments, as well as complement Wi-Fi investments. We’re also hearing from enterprise customers who want alternatives for replacing outdated wired networks with newer, more maintainable and scalable solutions, which is exactly what 5G and MEC technologies deliver.
From announcements to speaking engagements to an entire edge city, at Dell Technologies World we’re covering diverse topics like:
-
- How 5G connected laptops are empowering mobile workers and transforming enterprise productivity
- Why and how service providers from wireline and wireless companies are transforming to drive new value creation
- How an open telecom ecosystem will accelerate innovation for the entire industry
- What edge outcomes are most mature and compelling for customers
As part of the Dell Technologies World expo, edge and 5G exhibits feature multiple experiential, hands-on demonstrations across different verticals, including an interactive use case display demonstrating how Dell is driving business outcomes with service providers for our end customers.
Dell Technologies World has always been a flagship event for enterprise customers, partners and Dell sellers to meet, listen, learn and ink deals that will drive business transformation.
