TBR said we scored particularly high in renewable energy use, recycling and integrating sustainability into our overall business. We have made some great progress with regards to integrating environmental sustainability into our operations and our products. We now source about 35 percent of our U.S. energy use from green power and approximately 20 percent globally, and we offer free computer recycling to consumers worldwide. On the product front, customers are responding well to things like our new G2410 monitor. It’s EPEAT Gold certified; free of arsenic, mercury, PVC, BFR and CFR; the chassis contains more than 25 percent post-consumer recycled materials, and it ships in recyclable corrugated cardboard.
This marks another exciting recognition for the Dell team. It comes on the heels of GreenFactor’s recent survey, which named Dell the number one green technology brand. The way we see it, thinking “green” makes us operate more efficiently and serve our customers more effectively, and those tenets are at the core of any strong business. But we can – and will – do better. And while it’s great to be ranked No. 1, what really matters is the industry is aligning around a more holistic approach to defining 'green' and preserving our planet.
