Oracle honored Dell’s own Kai Yu at Oracle Open World 2012 by naming him an Oracle Technologist of the Year: Cloud Architect. Kai is extremely active in both Oracle and Dell communities and is well known for his efforts to deliver cutting-edge solutions using Oracle products and services. As a Dell Cloud Architect, Kai evangelizes cloud technology and actively shares best practices and innovative methodologies.

Kai explains that this is really a team award and praises the efforts of his team to drive innovation for Oracle solutions at Dell. The Dell Oracle Solutions engineering lab combines Oracle technologies and Dell infrastructure to create superior enterprise solutions for customers. As the lead engineer of Dell Oracle Solutions engineering lab, Kai guides the team to develop a series of best practices, including reference architectures and best practices for private cloud, virtualizing Oracle E-Business Suite, and managing a high-availability infrastructure for database cloud.

Kai was already a much-celebrated member of the Oracle community. In 2011, his peers awarded him the Oracle Applications Users Group(OAUG) Innovator of the Year Award, and in 2010 Kai was accepted into the Oracle ACE program as one of 51 Oracle ACE Directors. Kai began his Oracle journey as a DBA 17 years ago and moved to his current solutions engineering role in 2006. As the author of numerous white papers and host of more than 30 Oracle Cloud technical presentations around the world, Kai passionately shares his expertise and insights within the Oracle community.  Since 2006, he has given an astounding 16 presentations at Oracle Open World!

Kai and his team are driving innovative Oracle solutions for Dell and Dell customers, but their expertise, insights and creativity are driving new solutions and applications across the IT spectrum.
