Getting the right device and connectivity to those who need it most

    • Technology has the power to transform, but for those without access to the right device and sufficient internet, it has created a digital divide. There are 1.3 billion students between the ages of 3 to 17 who have no reliable internet access.* On a global level, about half of the world’s population remains offline.

At Dell Technologies, we are committed to address the digital divide, which is why one of our key focus areas to driving digital inclusion is access to technology. A foundational component of access to technology is connectivity – having the right device together with strong, reliable internet access. Below are the programs we are leading to push for access to digital resources across the globe.

    • Giga: A UNICEF-ITU Global Initiative

Dell Technologies is partnering with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) USA to support Giga, a UNICEF-ITU global initiative to connect every school to the internet by 2030 and every young person to information, opportunity and choice.

    • Internet Essentials from Comcast

Partnering with Comcast, we are facilitating the provision of laptops to support their Internet Essentials program. Internet Essentials is Comcast's signature digital equity initiative and the United States' largest and most comprehensive broadband adoption program to bring affordable, high-speed internet to low-income families. Internet Essentials participates in the Federal Government's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). To learn more about the U.S. government programs around access, click the button below.
