EMC was once again a Diamond Sponsor of Oracle Open World 2013. The EMC presence could be felt everywhere. Over 10,000 people attended the EMC Keynote delivered by Joe Tucci and Jeremy Burton here and a Customer Appreciation Party for over 450 EMC customers! In addition to the Key Note, EMC hosted 6 technical breakout sessions at this year’s show; among them, “The DBA’s Guide to the Flash Galaxy: When, Where, and How to Use Flash for Oracle Products”. This was by far my favorite session, not because of the topic, but because I was one of the presenters 😉
I covered the EMC Flash Portfolio (XtremSF, XtremSW Cache, ScaleIO and XtremIO) while Bart Sjerps covered Flash specifically for Oracle Databases and applications. You can find Bart on twitter @CacheFlush and his blog “Dirty Cache” at bartsjerps.wordpress.com.
