Every year we gather partners to meet face to face and share information, provide training, exchange ideas and strengthen our relationships.
This year’s Dell Partner Technology Summit was held between 26th-30th August, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Cairns, Australia. It brought together over 100 delegates, including Presales Engineers from 60 of Dell’s Premier and Preferred Partners across SMB, Public and Large Enterprise segments in Australia and New Zealand. Sponsored by Intel, Microsoft, VMware, and Quest, and supported by NetApps, Dell Wyse, Dell AppAssure and Dell SonicWALL it was four days of hands-on training for Partners.
There were four streams that Partners could choose from: Networking & Security, Intelligent Infrastructure, Data Management, and End User Computing.
The idea behind the Summit was to enable Partners to achieve the technical capability in positioning and selling Dell and Alliance Partner products, services, and solutions to support partner’s business growth. In addition, it provided the opportunity to extend the Dell Partner Architect Community and to build peer-to-peer relationships and develop a valued community in the industry.
The main purpose of the event was to ensure that Partners were actually able to learn the materials being presented – hence the hands on activities. The other goals were to position Dell as a provider of industry leading Enterprise solutions, build closer relationship between Dell and Alliance Partners, and to demonstrate the value of Dell and Vendor Partner alliances.
It was a great and fruitful event, and partners rated their confidence in recommending Dell Solutions at 4.8 out of 5 post Summit.
- “Awesome event. Lots of knowledge shared and relationships strengthened/made. Certainly shows we are partnering with the right vendor”
- “Great Summit and for a new Partner, it cemented our decision on partnering with Dell. We have also decided to select Dell SonicWALL as our Firewall of choice after the security session”
- “I don’t usually give 5s but in this case they were all well deserved. Thank you for putting on this great event”
This Summit provided a great educational experience for Partners but it also provided an opportunity for networking and building connections – those intangibles that cannot be measured but are critical for successful relationships. Dell values its relationships with its Partners and this is but one event where those intangibles can be fostered such that Partners are enabled to thrive and grow.
