Drumroll Please…EMC Announces Winners Of The Journey To The Cloud Awards

FlagTransformation is the name of the game in today’s IT world. If you’re not transforming, well … let’s not go there.  It’s all about balance. Do more with less … jack up performance … simplify operations. It’s no small feat, but it can be done.

Today, EMC recognized five companies at the absolute top of their game. They’ve mastered the challenge. They’ve made IT transformation a top priority, and they’ve reaped great rewards in turn.  Winners were selected in five different categories and presented with their Journey To The Cloud Award in the EMC booth at VMworld in San Francisco.

Winner: Press Ganey

Press Ganey partners with over 10,000 different health organizations to help improve the patient experience. Press Ganey adopted an IT as a Service strategy using EMC technology and VMware vCloud Suite. Press Ganey CIO Greg Ericson said, “Within our private cloud we have been able to achieve improved levels of automation, management, and most importantly a better quality of service to our customers.”

Winner: Express Scripts

Express Scripts makes the use of prescription drugs safer and more affordable for more than 100 million Americans. Express Scripts virtualized their entire Oracle environment, using EMC and VMware technology. Express Scripts Chief Infrastructure Engineer Jim McBride said, “Virtualizing Oracle with EMC and VMware has helped allow us to create and sustain an efficient, cost effective, and high performance cloud platform.”

Winner: Sub-Zero Group

Sub-Zero is a well-respected manufacturer of high-end kitchen appliances. Sub-Zero deployed EMC’s Avamar and Data Domain as part of a virtual backup strategy that will help secure the companies mission critical applications and databases. Tyler Verri, Sub-Zero’s Corporate Infrastructure Services Manager said, “With the exploding growth in data we’ve seen in recent years, it’s tremendously reassuring to know that we have a backup and recovery infrastructure that will support our company into the future.”

Winner: Assure360

Assure360 is a leading provider of private/hybrid cloud and subscription software services. Assure360’s secure and complaint cloud offerings are used by top financial organizations and mortgage services. Assure360 has deployed an End User Computing solution that serves over 1,000 users. Assure360 CIO Ronald D. Redmer said, “Our cloud has allowed us to transform our traditional IT model, reduce administration time, become more efficient, and offer a higher level of service to our customers.”

Category: VSPEX Partner That Has Led A Customer Through A Cloud Transformation

Winner: Compunet
