As much as SXSW has grown over the years, music has always been at its heart. The Austin music scene delivers an unforgettable sensory experience every March and Dell is proud to be the official laptop and desktop computer sponsor of the SXSW 2012 Music Conference and Festival. In this role, Dell has the honor of helping music fans connect with their favorite artists, explore the city and discover new rising stars.
You’ll see Dell’s presence all around Austin throughout SXSW, but our long-standing tradition of supporting music fans and their passions is going to be a primary focus of our festival activities.
Kicking off on March 14, Dell will be setting up its own Music Oasis on 6th street and Trinity in downtown Austin. The large experiential tent will be a music fan’s ultimate lounge featuring an iHeartRadio listening booth, artist meet-and-greets, t-shirt screen printing stations, sweepstakes and exclusive SXSW offers. As an added bonus, music fans will be treated to hands-on time with Dell’s new XPS 13 Ultrabook and a chance to win the industry-praised laptop.
We’ll also have friendly Dell street team members all around town throughout SXSW handing out power bars and reusable water bottles to music fans looking to take a break and refuel from all the action.
Contributing to the discussion on the future of music and live performances, Michael Tatelman, Dell’s Vice President Global Consumer Sales & Marketing will be joining a panel hosted by YouTube titled “How YouTube Festival Webcasts Changed the World” which will take place on Friday, March 16 at 3:30 pm at the Austin Convention Center. The panel will explore how live online music events deliver a unique artist-to-fan connection, with the cooperation of promoters, platforms, sponsors, producers and artists.
We hope to see you in Austin and feel free to follow all the SXSW action on Twitter using hashtag #DellSXSW.
