Dell Cloud Client Computing celebrates a year of Dell and Wyse joining forces to deliver industry-leading virtualized computing solutions

One year ago, Dell and Wyse Technology joined forces to help accelerate Dell’s transformation to an end-to-end IT solutions provider. With the addition of Wyse, Dell Cloud Client Computing now offers the most comprehensive portfolio of virtualized end user computing solutions so customers can access their data anywhere, at any time. The portfolio includes virtualization software, data center solutions with Dell Desktop Virtualization Solutions (DVS), Dell Wyse cloud clients and management software and Dell Desktop-as-a-Service, and device management from the Dell cloud.

By adding Wyse to the Dell family, Dell Cloud Client Computing is not only connecting users with their critical information but also transforming content delivery within corporations. We now offer alternative form factors like Project Ophelia and new delivery mechanisms including application streaming with Dell Wyse WSM and personal cloud technologies with PocketCloud. Finally, we’ve expanded our end-to-end desktop virtualization solutions, including support for converged infrastructure deployments, for Citrix, Microsoft, VMware and Dell virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.

The successful integration of Wyse within Dell has brought new end-to-end opportunities and growth. In fact, Dell has acquired more than 11,000 new customers over the last year and was the global leader in the growing global thin/zero client market in 2012. We shipped an average of one thin client every 22 seconds and more than 1.4 million thin clients in the last year. And, since its release in August 2009, there have been more than 4.5 million PocketCloud downloads, and more than 2.1 million downloads in the last year. Additionally, PocketCloud Companion is pre-installed as standard on all Dell XPS and Inspiron computers creating a personal cloud for users to access and manage their devices and digital content, personal or corporate, from any Android, iOS or Windows 8/RT mobile device.

Dell is one of the the only IT solutions provider that delivers full end-to-end virtualization solutions from virus immune endpoints to the datacenter to the cloud and Desktop as a Service (DAAS). We are excited to continue to bring our customers innovative, simple, and flexible technology for an unmatched virtual computing experience.

I’m looking forward to many great years ahead with the Cloud Client Computing team, our customers and partners. I invite you to weigh in with any questions or comments about Dell Cloud Client Computing and how we can help transform your business.
