For VNX Series arrays, J class and B class disk drives are available.
J class drives are for VNX5100 and VNX5300 arrays only.
B class drives are sold for VNX5500, VNX5700 and VNX7500 arrays.
You cannot install a J class drive into a B class array! However, you can install a B class drive into a J class array!
The physical drive itself is the same. However, different firmware is installed on the different drive classes.
Because B Class drives can be used on all VNX systems, they are universal spare parts. With very few exceptions, only B class drives are used as spare parts.
通常SLC的盘既能用于FAST Cache又能用于FAST VP，MLC则只能用于FAST VP。具体可以参考All VNX CLARiiON Celerra Disk OE Matrices文档。
