Enginuity 5874之前的版本,hot spare盘默认放置在disk group 0中。5875开始,spare盘分布在数据盘disk group中。
DMX-3支持两种类型的spare:
对于dynamic sparing,默认作为故障盘“临时的”备份放在同一个disk group里面。
对于permanent sparing,只有同一转速、同一类型、同一大小等相同物理属性的磁盘才能相互替换(swap)。所以permanent spare盘会放在它们自己同类型的disk group中。

hot spare盘即dynamic spare,是全局的,不受disk group的限制,并且默认放在disk group 0中,可以替换别组的数据盘。

谢谢前辈,那么即使Hotspare盘与数据盘都放在一个组中,那么这个hotspare盘也是全局的吧?是否可以这样理解,在同一个组的hotspare盘只对所在的组负责不会在需要的时候替换其它组中的磁盘吧。如果我还是把hotspare盘都放在Group 0中那么当这个阵列都使用统一规格的时候,这个时候group 0中的hotspare不就变成全局的hotspare也就是跨组的hotspare了吧。

如果不得不采用把hotspare盘分散在每个组中这种策略,那么每个组分配多少个才算合适呢?是不是盘多就多分点盘少就少分点呢?按照每个DMX至少8个这样的基本规定,如果组的个数是奇数这样就不能平均分配啦。

符合一种类型每100块数据盘不少于2块备份盘的规则就可以了。

谢谢啦,原来偶案例2中的hotspare原来就是permanent呀,最后还是想问是不是5875以后只能选择permanent spare类型呢?
